The maintenance window will begin at 10 a.m. ET, at which point people who aren’t already playing will no longer be able to log in to the game’s servers. An hour later, at 11 a.m. ET, all players will be kicked to the title screen. Bungie expects to finish its work at 3 p.m. ET.
While the Destiny 2 servers are undergoing maintenance, Bungie will issue a hotfix that will update the game to version 184.108.40.206. The studio has not yet provided details or patch notes, but acting community manager Dylan “dmg04” Gafner said last week that the update “will address issues related to Iron Banner and Faction Rallies access.”
Presumably, the hotfix will allow Bungie to bring back Destiny 2’s Faction Rally event. The studio postponed the Faction Rally that had been scheduled to run from Dec. 12-19, 2017, so it could issue a patch (version 220.127.116.11) that would open up limited-time events to all Destiny 2 owners.
